Hello Everyone from Valeri/ Trip to Africa
Hello Everyone,
I just got back from Africa and went to 4 countries, Nairobi, Kenya; Lagos, Nigeria; Freetown. Sierre Leone; and Acura, Ghana.
It was a great trip and very fruitful. I spoke at our second PWI event in Nairobi where women from Ughana attended. They want to start a PWI Connection in their country.
I toured the school we adopted there to assess the needs to farther the project for the school which is headed by our eduactional program director Parth Savla. Most of the children live on the premises and parents have died of AIDS or they are street children. We are working to have the children to become leaders in their communities and in their future careers.
I then went to Lagos, Nigeria where I was met by community leaders at the airport. I spoke with one of the wealthiest women in Nigeria who own financial institutions to be a speaker and help the commnity of women. We toured a few hotels to set up PWI.
In Freetown, Sierre Leone Mr. and Mrs. Williams hosted me. They were both retired leaders in government and well known in the community. I was greeted by the immigration department and emlpoyees of Mr.and Mrs. Bart-Williams' empolyees to carry my luggage and everything else I needed. I met women in goverment who wanted to help with the PWI event there. The food in Sierre Leone was really good and tasty. Although the big long what I called giant lizards or mini dinosars creatures that run rampert in the streets were "not my cup of tea"! I was told by Mr.Williams they were harmless. Well they did not look that way to me. Smile
On the plane from Nigeria to Sierre Leone, I met a woman who lives in Ghana. She is a singer and lives both in Paris and Ghana. I had a long layover between flights in Acura, Ghana, so she and her friend took me on a tour of Ghana. She is very interested in starting PWI in her country.

Our goal is to empower women worldwide so families and communities will prosper. We feel once a women is OK and fulfilled she brings that fulfillment and joy to family and communities...AND with that, we can change the world!
I will continute to write more about this trip....the highlights and insights as well as the things that were very interesting to me...
