What is your dream in life?
Besides being a grandmother and being financially secure, my dream is to make a HUGE difference in the world. I am working on a Wiki site that focuses on initiatives that are working in the world so that they can be copied and implemented in any community for transforming communities into thriving, harmonious places so that all people are fed, clothed, have access to health care and education.
How did you hear about PWI?
From Valeri Bocage.
Please describe your company and it's products and services.

I'm a philanthropist at heart, a tireless cheerleader for empowerment and people's greatness, and a skilled sales, marketing, public relations and project management artisan. My passion and dream in life is to focus on what's working in the world through a website and on TV, sharing with it as many people as possible, so that others may take the ideas and practical information to copy and implement them for transforming anything in their communities.

I am working on this passion and dream in the form of a WIKI called Network of What's Working and will be enrolling a community of leaders to collaborate with me on it. I am currently participating in the Self-Expression and Leadership Program at Landmark Education to bring this project to fruition. The WIKI is planned to be up and in full collaboration by April 2, 2009!

My background includes many years in technology sales consulting, marketing professional services, health care operations, as a non-profit executive and volunteering in the non-profit sector all of my teen and adult years.

During my tenure in the technology industry, I had the pleasure of co-founding Techxans with Tony Huang and created the “Techxans” name. Prior to my technology industry experience, I was Executive Director of the Galleria Chamber of Commerce and previously provided marketing consulting in the accounting firm industry. Throughout my (long) career, I have been involved in community and trade organizations, and obtained Accreditation in Public Relations from the Public Relations Society of America, and served on the boards of several charitable and membership groups such as the American Organ Transplant Association and the Association of IT Professionals. I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in association management and technology to both of my roles as Regional Director of the Houston-Connection of Powerful Women International and as Executive Director of Techxans and Tech Execs. Originally from Brownsville, Texas, I have been in Houston since 1971.

International Women's Round Table on Global Leadership, New Orleans, December 6, 2008

We had a spectacular day on Saturday, December 6. Where to start???? Gosh, it's really hard because everything was GREAT. So, I'll just begin:

The team - from New York, San Francisco, North Carolina, Texas, and Ethiopa. It was so incredible to meet Friday night and look around the dinner table and see where all of us had traveled from to get here. Here we all were in New Orleans for our first International event. We were inspired just to see the team. I finally got to meet Jill Dubreuil who I h… Continue

Hi Pam,
i want to share this poem with you and all at Powerful Women International to inspire our generation of women committed to make a positive change all over the world. I have dedicated this to the struggle to make life better for all women and the earth.
love and peace,
Memunatu Barrie

POEM
POWERFUL WOMEN INTERNATIONAL
Women of all ages, women of all colour
Women of all races, women of valour
Your hearts of love
Your smiles of peace
So radiant like the peace of a dove
Is everywhere and never ceases

When you rule the world
There is constant peace
When you rule the world
All the children will again be at ease,\no more hunger, no more famine
No more war
When you reign as queens
There is constant peace, joy and serene
And the whole world wins
And the earth commits no sin
Of hate, of jealousy of envy
No wars, no hunger and no famine

When powerful women reign supreme
There is unity and freedom
There is joy and laughter
Upon all faces, that beams
There are great ideas and wisdom

Powerful women, can save all nations,
From poverty, oppression,
And hunger tensions
Can free women from detention.
In the midst of powerful women
All men, women and children
Become free again
by the positive stewardship
Of Powerful Women international

Hi June - that is interesting about our similar background. I am sure we know some of the same people. The photos of you and your table at the event came out really well...did you see them? They are on the Ning site...

Pam, WOW....I just read your bio and didn't realize we had some things in common in the technology realm. I owned a computer software sales and consulting firm for sixteens years (accounting software). Most likely we know a few of the same fabulous people!

Hi Pam, I am so glad you enjoyed wearing your Bloom Flower necklace. Stella & Dot IS really fun jewelry that brings a smile. So happy to know PWI has this NING group. I'm on several and find the 'format' is great. Meant to ask Crystal about NING groups on Friday and presto - here you already have one in full swing!! Looking forward to partying with you too!
